Incorporated in January 1986, Home Assistance Neepawa and District (H.A.N.D) is a non- profit organization. The mandate of the Seniors' program is to provide support services to Seniors 55+ and Persons with Disabilities to age with dignity in their own homes as long as physically possible.
The catchment area includes: the Town of Neepawa and the surrounding Rural Municipalities of Glenella-Lansdowne, Rosedale, and North Portion of North Cypress-Langford. The Board of Directors consists of 10 members: Town of Neepawa, RM North Cypress-Langford, Glenella-Lansdowne, Neepawa & District Drop-In-Center, and 6 members-at -large. The Directors act on all matters pertaining to policies and the management of H.A.N.D. The Coordinator's duties are to provide services as required, provide information and referrals, act as an advocate, assist with filling out forms, and assist in accessing government agencies. The Coordinator sits as a H.A.N.D. representative on the Neepawa & District Handy Transit Board, as Secretary on New Beginnings Neepawa and Area Grief Support Program, the Alzheimer Memory Walk Committee, and the Neepawa and Area Free Community Christmas Dinner ( December 25th) Committee.
